Subject: September 3^rd and September 4th - Opening Day Procedures for CHS Students Attending Career and Technical Education Programs at BOCES (MTC and BTC)

Dear Connetquot High School Students and Families,

Welcome back, T-Birds!

This message is for Connetquot High School students who attend the Edward J. Milliken Technical Center (MTC) or the Gary D. Bixhorn Technical Center (BTC).

Please note: Technical Education Programs at MTC and BTC begin on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

The information below explains the schedule for Thursday, September 3 and Friday, September 4, 2026.

AM BOCES Students (MTC & BTC)

• Thursday, September 3, 2026: Late Arrival to CHS – Report to school by Period 6 (11:10 AM).
• Transportation Options:
  • Self-transportation: Students may arrive on their own. Only seniors with valid parking tags may park on campus.
  • Bus transportation: Report to a designated bus stop at 10:30 AM. (Bus Stop Locations – Refer to the 3:55 PM Late Bus Schedule Link: [Click Here])
• At School:
  • Students will attend Periods 6–9.
  • If arriving before Period 6, students must report to the cafeteria.
• Friday, September 4^th – All AM BOCES students will be called out of their Period 7 class to attend a BOCES Orientation Program in the auditorium.

PM BOCES Students (MTC & BTC)

• Thursday, September 3, 2026
  • Arrive at CHS at the normal start time.
  • Dismissal after Period 5. Bus transportation will be provided from the bus parking lot.
  • Students may also leave at this time if they drive (seniors with parking tags only).
  • Utilize the 3:55 PM late schedule for routes and drop off locations [Click this link].
• Friday, September 4, 2026
  • Remain in school through Period 8.
  • Schedule:
    • Period 6 – PM BOCES will remain in cafeteria through period 6.
    • Period 7 – BOCES Orientation in the auditorium (all PM BOCES students).
      • Seniors who drive to school will be dismissed to leave at 12:36 PM.
    • Period 8 – PM BOCES students will remain in the auditorium.
  • Dismissal at 1:21 PM – Students report to the bus parking lot.

Regular Schedule Begins

• Tuesday, September 8, 2026 – Technical education programs at MTC and BTC begin. Students will follow their normal daily schedules.

Reminder: AM BOCES Student Drop-Off Procedures Upon Return to CHS

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

This message is a reminder for students who attend the AM BOCES sessions at Milliken Technical Center (MTC) and Bixhorn Technical Center (BTC) regarding procedures when returning to Connetquot High School.

Upon arrival back at CHS, students are dropped off by the bus at the CAFETERIA PATIO GATE. At that time, students will enter the cafeteria for lunch.

Please note that students are not permitted to go to their vehicles in the student parking lot upon returning to campus.

Estimated AM BOCES Return Times to CHS:

• MTC: Approximately 10:38 AM (Period 5)
• BTC: Approximately 10:45 AM (Period 5)

Students should ensure that all necessary school materials and supplies are stored in their assigned school lockers so they have access to them when they return to the building.
