ADVANCED PLACEMENT PROGRAM AND EXAM INFORMATION

Advanced Placement courses offer students an opportunity to take a course taught on a college level. Both enrichment and college credit are available to the dedicated student. Intensive classroom work, independent study, and research are integral parts of the program. The cost of taking AP Examinations is absorbed by the student. The examination is administered by the College Entrance Examination Board and a five-point college-level scale is used. According to the College Board, currently more than 90% of colleges and universities offer college credit, advanced placement, or both, for qualifying AP scores. 

 

AP Examinations must be taken to receive Level 1 (1.1 weighting) as well as AP designation for the course taken on a transcript. If a student chooses not to take an AP exam, the student will receive a Level 2 (1.05 Honors Weighting), but will still receive the AP designation for a course taken on the transcript.

AP Exam Registration and Payment Information

 

 

AP EXAM REGISTRATION/ORDERING and PAYMENT INFORMATION:

Student AP Exam Registration and ordering at Connetquot High School will occur Thursday, September 3, 2026 through Friday, September 25, 2026.

ORDERING AND PAYMENT WILL TAKE PLACE BETWEEN:

  • THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2026 THROUGH FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2026

Student must follow this TWO STEP PROCESS to register, order and submit payment for AP EXAMS:

STEP 1:

  1. Sign in to My AP using STUDENT College Board account.
  2. Select the appropriate AP course.
  3. Make sure to join the correct AP class section using the teacher's join code.
  4. Once enrolled, the student will see a “Register” button in the course.
  5. The student clicks “Register” to indicate that they intend to take the AP Exam.

STEP 2 – Payment through MySchoolBucks.com - Website:

To access and log into your account, go to the MySchoolBucks Website or open the mobile app. Click the login or person icon in the upper right corner, enter your email and password, and click log in.

  1. Log in or create an account at MySchoolBucks. You will not be able to sign up for any exams until a student’s name is entered into the account.
  2. Once you are signed in, select the “School Store” tab, then select “AP Exams” under “Categories.”
  3. Click on the exams you wish to take, choose the student you want to enroll in the exam, and then add the exam to your cart.
    • IMPORTANT: Please ensure your are selecting the correct AP Exam that is the match for your AP Course.
  4. AP Exam Fees:  $99 per exam including AP Capstone and Research.
  5. Each exam the student is taking must be individually added to your cart.
  6. Once all AP EXAMS are selected, proceed to check out to pay for the exams.
  7. If you cannot order your AP EXAMS using the MySchoolBucks Website for any reason, please see Mr. Sidman in the Grade 12 Office (Rm 185) or Ms. Marino in room 168.

REDUCED AP EXAM FEE:

  • You must apply and be approved by the district for the free or reduced lunch program to qualify for an AP fee reduction.
  • If you believe you qualify for a reduced-fee exam, see Mr. Sidman in the Grade 12 Office (Rm 185) or Ms. Marino in room 168. 

CANCELLING AN AP EXAM:

If an AP a student chooses to not take an exam after registering for it in AP Classroom, they must see their school Mr. Sidman to have their registration changed through the College Board BEFORE November 13th, 2026.

  • Any AP EXAM cancellations after November 13, 2026 are subject to a $40 cancellation fee imposed by the College Board.
