Student Directions: Accessing College Board Bluebook on a District-Issued Chromebook

For College Board AP Exams, PSAT/NMSQT and SAT Assessments

Bluebook is the College Board application used to take digital AP Exams, PSAT/NMSQT and SAT. Follow the directions below to access Bluebook on your Connetquot High School district-issued Chromebook.

IMPORTANT: You must open Bluebook before signing in to your Chromebook. Do not sign in to your school account first.

Step 1: Turn on Your Chromebook

  1. Turn on your district-issued Chromebook.
  2. If you are already signed in to your Chromebook, sign out of your account.
  3. Remain on the Chromebook sign-in screen. Do not enter your school username or password.

Step 2: Open Bluebook

  1. Look at the bottom-left corner of the Chromebook screen.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Select Bluebook to launch the College Board testing application.
  4. Wait for Bluebook to open.

Note: Bluebook must be opened from the Chromebook sign-in screen. Do not try to open it from Google Chrome or your regular school account.

Step 3: Sign In to Bluebook

The sign-in method depends on the assessment you are taking.

For AP Exams:

  • Sign in using your College Board student account credentials.
  • Make sure you know your College Board username and password before exam day.

For the PSAT/NMSQT:

  • Sign in using the credentials provided on your PSAT/NMSQT sign-in ticket.
  • Follow the instructions provided by your test administrator.

Step 4: Prepare for Your Assessment

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  2. Complete any required setup steps as directed by your test administrator.
  3. Wait for your test administrator to provide further instructions before beginning your assessment.

Troubleshooting: What If Bluebook Does Not Appear?

If you do not see Apps or Bluebook is not listed:

  • Double-check that you have not signed in to your Chromebook.
  • If you are signed in, sign out and return to the Chromebook sign-in screen.
  • Select Apps > Bluebook again.
  • If Bluebook is still unavailable, notify your test administrator or school technology staff. Do not attempt to install the application yourself.

Before Test Day

  • Make sure you have your district-issued Chromebook.
  • Charge your Chromebook fully.
  • Know your College Board account credentials if you are taking an AP Exam.
  • Be prepared to use your PSAT/NMSQT sign-in ticket when applicable.
  • Ask your teacher or test administrator for assistance if you have difficulty accessing Bluebook.

Remember: For school-day AP Exams and the PSAT/NMSQT, always launch Bluebook from the Chromebook sign-in screen and follow your test administrator's directions.

For the SAT:

If you are taking the SAT on a Saturday, follow these directions to access the College Board Bluebook application.

Step 1: Prepare Your Device Before Test Day

  1. Make sure you have an approved device with Bluebook installed.
  2. Open Bluebook and sign in using your College Board account email address and password.
  3. Complete the required exam setup 1–5 days before your SAT. Bluebook will generate your SAT admission ticket after you complete this step.
  4. Check that your name and other personal information are correct.

Step 2: Open Bluebook on Test Day

  1. Turn on your device.
  2. Connect to the internet.
  3. Open the Bluebook application.
  4. Sign in using your College Board account email address and password.
  5. Check for any updated messages or test center information.

If you are using a district-issued Chromebook: Turn it on without signing in to your Chromebook account. Select Apps > Bluebook in the lower-left corner. Sign in to Bluebook using your College Board account. Your Chromebook must be properly configured for testing outside Connetquot High School.

Step 3: Check In at the Test Center

Bring the following items:

  • Your fully charged testing device.
  • Your SAT admission ticket, generated through Bluebook.
  • An acceptable photo ID.
  • Your charging cable or portable charger.

At check-in, testing staff will verify your admission ticket and identification. Once seated, connect to the test center's Wi-Fi, complete the Bluebook check-in process, and wait for the proctor to provide the start code.

Important: Do not wait until test morning to install or prepare Bluebook. Complete the required setup in advance to avoid problems at the test center.
