Reminder: AM BOCES Student Drop-Off Procedures Upon Return to CHS

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

This message is a reminder for students who attend the AM BOCES sessions at Milliken Technical Center (MTC) and Bixhorn Technical Center (BTC) regarding procedures when returning to Connetquot High School.

Upon arrival back at CHS, students are dropped off by the bus at the CAFETERIA PATIO GATE. At that time, students will enter the cafeteria for lunch.

Please note that students are not permitted to go to their vehicles in the student parking lot upon returning to campus.

Estimated AM BOCES Return Times to CHS:

  • MTC: Approximately 10:38 AM (Period 5)
  • BTC: Approximately 10:45 AM (Period 5)

Students should ensure that all necessary school materials and supplies are stored in their assigned school lockers so they have access to them when they return to the building.

Please note that this is not a new procedure. These expectations were reviewed with students during the BOCES Orientation held in September.

The following information is for Connetquot High School students who attend the Edward J. Milliken Technical Center (MTC) or the Gary D. Bixhorn Technical Center (BTC).

SUBJECT:   MTC/BTC CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2026 FOR VISITOR’S DAY

 

The following information is for Connetquot High School students who attend the Edward J. Milliken Technical Center (MTC) or the Gary D. Bixhorn Technical Center (BTC).

Please be aware that on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 both BTC and MTC will not be holding regularly scheduled classes due to VISITOR’S DAY.

If you are a student attending an AM or PM CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM at either MTC or BTC you will follow the directions below:

AM BOCES STUDENTS WHO ATTEND MTC/BTC WILL FOLLOW THIS PLAN:

  • Late Arrival to Connetquot High School – You must report for school by period 6 which begins at 11:10 AM.  There are two options:
    • You can provide your own transportation to school on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. 
      • Only seniors who have parking tags can park on school grounds.
    • BUS TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED: Using the 3:55 PM LATE BUS SCHEDULE, identify a bus stop nearest to your home.
      • Report to that bus stop at 10:30 AM.  (Dress for the weather as the wait-time for the bus could be in excess of 20 minutes)

  • Upon arrival at school, AM BOCES students will attend periods 6 through 9.  **If you arrive at school prior to period 6, you must report to the cafeteria.

PM BOCES STUDENTS WHO ATTEND MTC/BTC WILL FOLLOW THIS PLAN:

  • PM BOCES students will arrive to the high school at the normal start time for classes.
    • 11:06 AM DISMISSAL: ONLY those students who attend PM programs at MTC/BTC will be dismissed from school utilizing the 3:55 PM late bus schedule.

BTC | MTC Schedule Information

AM Session: 7:45 AM to 10:15 AM
PM Session: 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM

Bus transportation is provided from the high school to the technical center sites.

Please refer to the BTC | MTC transportation schedule below:

AM Session Departure Times From CHS:

  • BTC – estimated departure from CHS is 7:15 AM
  • MTC – estimated departure from CHS is 7:20 AM
    CHS bus pick-up is located in the bus parking lot by the Music Doors

AM Session Return Times to CHS:

  • BTC – estimated return to CHS at 10:45 AM (period 5)
  • MTC – estimated return to CHS at 10:38 AM (period 5)

PM Session Departure Times From CHS:

  • BTC – estimated departure: 11:30 AM (period 6)
  • MTC – estimated departure: 11:45 AM (period 6)
    CHS bus pick-up is located outside the cafeteria patio gate

PM Session Return Time to CHS:

  • Approximately 3:00 PM

Eastern Suffolk BOCES CTE Program: Two-Hour Delay

If there is a two-hour delayed opening, Connetquot’s AM BOCES CTE program participation will be canceled for the day. Your child’s absence will be excused.

Students should report to Connetquot High School, where they will be housed until their first regularly scheduled class period.

This information will also be included in the official delay notice and any follow-up communication from CHS.
